Situated at the base of Yamaska Mountain at St-Paul d’Abbotsford, Les Artisans du Terroir vineyard established its roots on the land of an agricultural enterprise more than 35 years ago. Réjean and Céline Guertin,who both terminated their respective employments, bought a first orchard on the rang de la Montagne at St-Paul d’Abbotsford in 1977. A whole new adventure begins!
In 1996, the established enterprise expands with the aquisition of a vineyard. At the same time their son David who had obtained his diploma in horticulture becomes part of the family enterprise responsable for field production.
In the year 2000 a facet agro-tourism expands the already existing enterprise : production of wines (whites, reds, rose, aperitifs, cider, jellies and home made jams, apple pies and other by products… all to wet tne appetite! Annie, their daughter who had completed her studies in food transformation joins the team in the kitchen and wine production.
Today, Verger R. C. Guertin 2011 inc and Les Artisans du Terroir (Réjean and David Guertin) operate in excess of 20 hectare of hign density apple orchard and 6 hectares of vineyard. In order to adapt to the taste of the day : equipment renewal, plantings of news varieties and adaptation of the planting procedures are essential.
Respecting the traditions, all functions from the wine to the bottle, are carried out by a family member.
